They were down 7-3 at the half, 10-3 going into the fourth quarter. Would this Eagles team come up with another win as they did against Virginia Tech?
The answer would be yes, scoring 17 points in the fourth quarter to secure the victory with just 1:46 left in the game. Matt Ryan passed for another 315 yards, one touchdown, and one interception to push the Eagles into the ACC Championship game in Jacksonville, Florida, against the winners of the Virginia/Virginia Tech game. Despite the victory, the Eagles will still be underdogs going into the game, with another duel against Virginia Tech expected.
The victory ensured that the Eagles will be playing 3 more games this season, vs. Miami this Saturday at Alumni, vs. Virginia/Virginia Tech in Jacksonville, and a bowl game that has yet to be determined. If the Eagles win out, they will end up in the Orange Bowl.

BC Comes into Clemson as Underdogs
Unfortunately I will be away from campus this weekend, so I won't be able to see any first-hand celebrations or moping following the Clemson game. Most predict BC to lose by roughly 7 or 8 points, despite their 7 point loss to lowly Maryland last weekend. BC was the underdog going against Virginia Tech and Georgia Tech and favored against all other opponents, making BC 2-0 when not favored and 6-2 when favored. Does this mean something about this Boston College football team and what they're going to do in South Carolina this weekend? Only time will tell.

BC Loses to FSU, MD and Drops to #18 in AP, Harris, Coaches
After 2 dismal weeks of Boston College Football, the Eagles have fallen from potential championship contenders to barely controlling their own destiny in the ACC Atlantic Division. The Eagles are now 8-2 and ranked #18 nationally in the AP, Coaches, and Harris Poll. According to the polls the Eagles have dropped to #4 in the ACC, behind Virginia Tech, Clemson, and Virginia. If the Eagles win out, they'll go to the ACC championship game, against either Virginia or Virginia Tech. If the Eagles lose to Clemson, then they will most likely not be going to a BCS bowl at all and will be demoted to a smaller bowl such as in the past.
The Maryland game was perhaps more shocking than the FSU game as MD was able to put up 42 points against a BC defense that had not given up 30+ points all season. The BC offense was able to generate 35 points, its usual amount against a bad opponent, but the defense clearly had so many holes that Ryan and the offense were not able to catch up. Despite the poor play of the defense, the Eagles had a chance until Aponavicious almost missed the ball on an Onside Kick that only went about 6 yards (10 yards are required). That put the nail in the coffin for BC and killed their comeback hopes. Matt Ryan threw another 2 interceptions, adding to his now growing total of 13. The Eagles are most likely extreme underdogs against Clemson, who destroyed Wake Forest 44-10 this past weekend.
